ماژول S500-MOD امکان جمع آوری و انتقال داده های اندازه گیری کنتور متصل به یک ایستگاه راه دور را می دهد. این داده ها روی خط RS485 با استفاده از پروتکل های ModBUS RTU یا ASCII منتقل می شوند. ModBUS محبوب ترین پروتکل ارتباطی است که برای امکان برقراری ارتباط تجهیزات صنعتی طراحی شده است. ماژول RS485 با یک کلید SET DEFAULT برای بازنشانی تمام پارامترهای ارتباطی به مقادیر پیش فرض کارخانه ارائه شده است. این تابع بسیار مفید است، یعنی در صورت فراموش شدن آدرس منطقی MODBUS. دو LED در ماژول RS485 اطلاعاتی در مورد وضعیت منبع تغذیه و وضعیت ارتباط ارائه می دهند.
